Abdelrahim Saleh Foundation, Inc.

 Mission Statement:

• The mission of the Abdelrahim Saleh Foundation is to encourage and promote education and the pursuit of learning since Dr. Abdelrahim Saleh was a strong advocate of education and the pursuit of knowledge. This is his legacy. Many people have a familiarity with Dr. Abdelrahim Saleh either through personal knowledge and contact or through his writings published in print or on-line.

Purpose & Objectives:

• Objective One:     The Abdelrahim Saleh Foundation website will be host to several            entities, as follows:
  • “Fihrest” a bibliographical research resource for those wishing to do research on Libya. Abdelrahim Saleh spent many painstaking years compiling this substantial and valuable bibliography which will be kept updated. A subscription fee may apply.
  • Publications, articles, poetry, etc. by Dr. Abdelrahim Saleh and other contributors, updated on an ongoing basis
  • Pictorial History of Libya will include graphic images of Libya encompassing all areas of graphic imagery including Geographical, Geological, Cultural, Population, Maps, etc.
• Objective Two:   The Foundation will hold an annual literary competition for young Libyan writers. Initially, there will be cash prizes in the range of $250 to $1,000 (to be paid for by money generated from the sale of Abdelrahim Saleh’s book of poetry and any other generous donations provided by people wishing to support this worthy cause. The cost of publishing the book has been donated by Abdelrahim Saleh’s family). In addition to the cash prize there will be: a certificate, acknowledgement and the publication of the young authors work, on the Abdelrahim Saleh Foundation website, and a copy of Dr. Abdelrahim Saleh’s book “Mirage of “N” street” The parameters of the competition, as well as the judging, will be determined by a panel of qualified judges who will be named later.
